This week was a rough one, but there were a couple of awesome miracles. I don’t have much time to write so I’ll have to keep it pretty short. On Saturday we had an appointment with Jeffrey. We’ve been bringing members to the lessons but none of them really clicked with him. We were trying to find someone to take with us but couldn’t think of anyone. So here we are, about half hour before the appointment, and we still have no one to take us, then BAM. Brother Banda came to mind. Brother Banda actually isn’t even in our ward. He lives in the boundaries but goes to a different ward, so I’ve never thought about taking him. Brother Banda is a 6 foot 10 about 400 pound monster. He’s covered in tatts and spent most of his life gang bangin. He’s the man. Anyway, so we bring him to the lesson and we ask Jeffrey how everything’s going. He just responds saying I don’t wanna talk about it. At this point we’re kinda freaking out because we didn’t really have a lesson plan, we just wanted to talk about how he’s doing. Luckily Brother Banda took over and shared his conversion story.
He was the perfect member to take because they have similar backgrounds. Brother Banda said after his first few meetings with the missionaries he was exactly where Jeffrey is now. He told him that he needs to make the first step. The Lord is trying to help him but he has to do his part, until then nothing will happen. So, we will see what happens. There’s no doubt we were lead to Jeffrey and have been inspired in meetings with him and in finding certain people to come with us. I guess now it’s up to him.
The other cool experience we were able to have was when we went home teaching with Brother Martin. We had a powerful lesson with a father who’s been really struggling and been less active since his 4 year old son died last May. I don’t have time to explain it all but I know that the Plan of Salvation is real and we all live after this life. I hope you have a great week, love you all!

Elder Strickland reading to the Perez' kids. Sister Perez is the one who's friends with Sister Chidester.
I look hideous.(No he doesn't.) Elder Neville and I went on an exchange. Took us back to the Woodlands days!
