Hey Guys!

I'm glad that Grandpa had a great service! He definitely deserved one! Monday night laying in bed after receiving the news, I had so many memories and sayings of Grandpa flooding into my mind. What an awesome guy he was/is. He was a picture perfect Grandpa! Always smiling, always hitting on the ladies, always laughing his head off even if he had no idea what you just said, best pillow belly I've ever had the privilege of using, the list could go on and on. I had tons of memories of him drinking soda, trips to "wally-mart" (or was it "wally-world"?), and ginormous eyeballs behind thick glasses. Sure do love that man.

Well, this wasn't the fastest week for missionary work, but it definitely was a good week. Let me tell you about Brother Li. He is Chinese and his wife and daughter are members. They were baptized about 2 years ago. Well, as you can imagine, missionaries have been over there a lot due to the fact that it's a part-member family. Over the past 2 years Brother Li has gone from not liking the missionaries, to liking them, and now to being interested in the church. Well, he works in China and goes on very long business trips over there. He came back home for this past week. During his most recent trip to China he had been attending a branch in Shanghai. He has a couple of really great friends there that are LDS and that taught him some things while he was there. Well, he now is very interested. We met with him on Tuesday and taught the Restoration. It went well. He knows a lot of the Bible and is reading the Book of Mormon. The problem is, he just left yesterday morning for China for a couple of months. Sad, right? Wrong! We got permission from President Pingree to teach him the lessons over skype while he is in China. Awesome, huh?

On Saturday we went to a baptism in the district. His name is Max. I didn't teach him at all but I have gotten to know him a little bit. He's an awesome guy. He has shown a lot of faith by being baptized because he hasn't gotten no support whatsoever from his family. It's amazing how much people are willing to sacrifice in order to receive the blessings of the Restored Gospel. Quite often we do service at a place called Autumn Leaves. It's a care center for people with Alzheimer's. Over time, the missionaries have developed a really good relationship with one of the managers there. He asked us a couple weeks ago if we would be willing to do a service there every Sunday. Yesterday was the first one. We didn't really know what to expect. We decided to make it more of a family home evening type deal and to include a family from the ward each week. We had a family coming and the mom was going to do a musical number. They ended up getting sick and couldn't come. We found another family to come along and the residents absolutely loved seeing the kids. I volunteered to do a musical number and sang Come Thou Fount. I was pretty scared cuz I didnt have any time to practice with the pianist beforehand, but it worked out well. I love going to that place. The residents are so awesome.

Well, that's most of what happened this week. We have decided to start a sports day everyday Saturday morning with the priests that they can invite their friends to. We are going to be playing Ultimate frisbee this saturday. Chumps better come ready to play :) Have a great week.

love you all.

love,
Elder Steed

P.S. Here's a scary thought. Remember when I opened my mission call? Yeah I remember it like it was yesterday. Guess what, that was a year ago... :0

Yep, definitely NOT in Melbourne anymore. Lambo! The driver looked like he was 16, too. haha.
